Could past mistakes come back to haunt you? That’s the question we asked in this atmospheric awareness campaign.

    Challenge

Educate people about the different ways of catching Hepatitis C and drive them to get tested.

    Insight

Hepatitis C is an invisible disease that can lay dormant for 20 years. The only way to expose it is to look into your past.

    Idea

What if a past mistake was still following you around?

    Execution

To make people question their HCV status, we created an unsettling, Nordic noir-style film that shows a man being confronted by past versions of himself as he walks through the city.

Working with Framestore, the effect of the two Chrises (yep, that’s how you spell it) was achieved by casting two look-alike actors and then combining elements of the younger and older faces with CGI.

Across print and digital, the campaign honed in on specific situations that could expose people to Hepatitis C.

A 60% increase in people asking to be tested for HCV.
